What People Say

Here are some kind words from BluePrint Home Offices customers. We judge our success on customer satisfaction so we are proud to have received such good feedback.

1. Su Jones, Surrey Hills

Example of Home Office" Since early November 2007, I have been working full-time , with two others and one part time colleague in the BluePrint garden office. We haven't looked back! Moreover, by packing up and moving from a previously rented building 5 miles away, we have totally decluttered and rationalised the whole operation.

The room has a fabulous  view. It is bright, warm- or airy as required - and is a pleasure to work from. Being tailor-made, all cables were hidden, power and data points  carefully positioned and storage has been allocated in a seperate area at the front of the building and in the attic space above the main room, both of which are very easily accessed.

The team was a pleasure to have on board. Unlike other building projects, there was no disruption to the home as the building went on totally independently although access to the WC and regular cups of tea/coffee are required - the latter greatly appreciated and generally accompanied by a catch up chat/gossip.

I have been 100% impressed by the professional yet friendly, down to earth and helpful approach to this project from start to finish. On the value for money front, I have already, and will continue to, recommend Blue Print to friends, family and collegues. Indeed it has also been my pleasure to show the finished office to potential Blue Print clients who are welcome to see as well as read the testimonial to the work of a truly great team.

Thank you again chaps for creating this excellent garden office for us."

2. Lynne Strong, Herts

Example of Home Office"Thank you for a fabulous job done.  My retreat is an absolute haven, and everything I had hoped for.  The work was so unobtrusively and speedily completed, with great attention paid to all the specifications requested and the final finishing touches.  I could not be more delighted.

It was worth every penny and will bring me much happiness for many years to come.  I still keep the key hidden away, so that it truly is my own personal, sacred space!"

3. Vitali Vitaliev, Herts

Example of Home Office"I am now finishing my next book, Life as a Literary Device, and am happy to say that one of its chapters is called "Pegasus' Cottage" (this is how I've christened your/our beautiful garden office (I think I've explained to you why). And it is lovely. I can't have enough of it and wish I could spend all my time in it. My writing flows inside it...

You know what's the most difficult thing about being a writer? It is getting up every morning, trudging to your desk and forcing yourself to write (all writers hate the process of putting words to paper). With the garden office, however, I don't have to force myself any longer. On the contrary, I look forward to getting there and writing. Quite unbelievable. In a way, you've helped me overcome one of the main obstacles in my work for which I am eternally grateful."

4. Tony Davis, Bucks

Example of Home Office"I chose BluePrint to build my garden office, as I thought their approach was very professional whilst my research showed me that their price was competitive.  I was not disappointed.

Throughout the 6-8 weeks between placing the order and the work starting, they kept me informed as to how things were progressing and, once work started on-site, they turned up each day at the crack of dawn and worked on solidly through awful weather (it was late November) until the light went.  The on-site team were very personable and professional, particularly if one kept them supplied with regular cups of tea and coffee !

Unfortunately, I was in hospital when they finished on-site and so, when I started to use the office a whole month later and I pointed out a couple of minor snags to be fixed, they returned promptly and without complaint to rectify them, which is my definition of a good contractor.

To summarise, I would recommend BluePrint without hesitation."

5. Philip and Sarah, Oxted

Example of Home Office"My wife and I run a recruitment business, based in London.  We also have two young children with whom we both want to spend as much time with as possible, and so the ability to work from a home base as much as possible is paramount. After consulting several home office companies, BluePrint seemed to tick all the boxes.

The whole thing was well organised, timely, and exceeded all of our expectations – the guys cleared the site that I had hoped to do before they started. As the build started we had concerns about the height  and so the guys dismantled the complete shell structure and reduced the height by 150mm – and we ended up with a very solid, professionally built office.   They finished the job superbly as well, laying carpet tiles, built work surfaces and shelving ready for us to move straight in to.

The guys were a pleasure to have around the place – with our young kids disturbing them to have chats, the dog getting involved, and Sarah and I often unavailable for long periods of time for them to ask important questions.

All in all it was a pretty painless project carried out with the minimum of fuss.

Many thanks for all your efforts."

6. Kirsten Dhar, London

Example of Home Office"Thank you all very much for providing me with an absolutely wonderful clinic in the garden of my north west London home. It is an absolute joy to work there and thanks to all your advice and help in the planning stages it has turned out to be an ideal place for my consulting work and research projects.  The pharmacy you designed for me as an annex to the building has turned out brilliantly and is a perfect solution to storage and workspace in the clinic. I can also store away, out of sight, all my papers in the loft space.

I have had done much building work over the years, but I have never been able to say that I have enjoyed a project as it unfolded - until now! It was great watching your efficient, meticulous work and attention to detail. We all, including patients and neighbours, love the look of the studio which greatly enhances the landscape of the garden and blends in as if it has always been there.

Although it was not the cheapest we saw (and certainly not the most expensive)  I would not hesitate to say that it was undoubtedly the best value for money and I would wholeheartedly recommend the BluePrint garden office to anyone.

It was an absolute pleasure working with you and I wish you all the very best for your business and future projects."

7. Mike Kyne, Ashford

Example of Home Office

"I have run a small Medical Import and Distribution Company from my home for the past 11 years. We recently moved to a larger Property with the luxury of a Studio in the loft of a double Oak garage. Working from there was a huge improvement on our original circumstances but within two years we had outgrown even that site. As the Company continued to grow I was faced with the dilemma of renting Office space in our nearby Village or worse, in Ashford. Having worked from home for so long I was seriously unhappy about what I viewed as a waste of money through rent, and the loss of the ease of working from home.

We decided to look at what we could build here with some trepidation as we had just built a large extension on our house and had the joys of difficult Planning requirements as the house is originally 17th Century, and the memory of a job which was forecast to last 6 months actually running on for eighteen.

We looked at a number of similar builders sites and then had three of them visit us to look at our requirements. Steve McCall arrived and we discussed the fact that I had to also replace a garage at the same time as the office was being built, and that meant we had to have the timing right. Steve suggested he build both the office and the garage and that all he required was a cleared site and they would do the rest from concrete base to wiring, plumbing and drainage.

The price quoted was more than acceptable. We actually built both the garage and office area for a fraction less then a quote we had received from another builder for just the office. The whole build took about 7 weeks from laying the concrete to handing us the keys. To watch the work proceed smoothly and with a minimum of fuss with a great group of guys such as Steve, Graham and their colleagues was a pleasure and relief. In fact we missed them when they finished. The work was excellent, the time it took fantastic and the end result is, frankly, beautiful. We have an office in our garden with a veranda, which I would always recommend, a small kitchen and toilet, along with a built in stock room. It is an absolute pleasure for me and two office based members of staff to work from, and we can accommodate our Sales Staff when they visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending BluePrint Home Offices to anybody, and would be happy to speak with anybody who would like to hear it directly from me. "

8. Michael Cox, London

Example of Home Office"Living and working in East London things can get very constricted and our house and garden are no exception.

I have happily worked from the spare room for some years. My business is in speciality spectacle lenses so I not only need an office but a space to set up my grinding tools.
However my wife falling  pregnant meant the spare room was going to be needed for other things…HELP!

A potential answer was to build an office at the bottom of the garden. We painstakingly researched the various companies and kept coming back to BluePrint.
The website indicated the type of company with the right flexible approach and our vibes proved to be right by the confident, straightforward and friendly manner in which the visit and survey was carried out.

We signed up with BluePrint and have not looked back. "

9. Jeremy and Fiona, Haywards Heath

Example of Home Office"I am simply emailing to thank you, Graham, Rod and your other colleagues for the work you have done in completing our new home office.

First, many thanks for finishing ahead of the target date I set – which has simply made the transition easier before our summer break.

Fiona and I are delighted with the result – it’s a lovely working environment (with the air con and Sky Sports, of course!), and looks great externally. We particularly wanted that the new office should fit in with our garden, and this it certainly does.

Also, we were most impressed with the effort you all put in, whatever the weather and other conditions. Particularly, thanks for the recent Friday when you completed the “snagging” jobs. All of this was done with flexibility and good humour.

In the future if you wish to invite other potential local customers to see our office, please do just give us a call. (We appreciated the opportunity to do this ourselves, as you organised.)

If you’re in the area ever, do give us a call and drop in for a coffee."

10. David Thwaite, Newbury

Example of Home Office"I thought I would just jot down a few words to thank you for the excellent job that you did for us. The studio is looking resplendent and aching to be used!

From our first meeting on a very wet, windy and cold Saturday afternoon I felt comfortable with what you were offering and the straightforward way that you presented it. You helped us through the planning process (being in a conservation area) and when all the “t’s” were crossed and the “i’s” dotted the programme was set out and not only adhered to but surpassed.

The installation process was surprisingly speedy and it was intriguing to come home each day to monitor the next stage of progress which all seemed to happen very painlessly.

We were very impressed with the efficiency and hardwork of the team and would like to thank you and all those at BluePrint who helped to make it such a smooth process.

We now are looking forward to a balmy summer and anticipating many a summers evening enjoying our Studio with glass in hand.

Once again many thanks and all the best for the future."

11. Colin Russell, Surrey

Example of Home Office"As a lawyer working in the local community I always maintained an office in my house although my practice was based on the High Street in near by Crawley with a West London office as well.

Increasingly I felt the need for my home office to be out of the house away from distractions and finally I started to investigate seriously. I knew that the shed or log cabin based options were not for me and wanted to speak face to face with someone to pull on their experience and discuss the finer points (I am a lawyer!). I had seen BluePrint’s website and they appeared to have the flexibility that I was after and following a site meeting they did indeed meet all my requirements. On receipt of their comprehensive proposal I was more than confident to place my order.

I have to say that the project went without a hitch. Programmes were adhered to, schedules met, problems were smoothly overcome and it all finished bang on time.
It is a great space to work in and they even managed to ensure the design would accommodate my piano. So I can unwind without disturbing anyone.

Thank you to all at BluePrint for a faultless project – and for plumbing in my washing machine as well!"

12. Alette Addison, St. Albans

Example of Home Office"My son (just 5) so enjoyed having BluePrint Offices in our garden that he told me I had to write a thank you  note - so here goes:

Thank you for responding so fast to my initial request;
Thank you being so understanding as I passed design after design to you for costing; Thank you for meeting every promise to contact me, provide paperwork and keep me up to date about when the build would commence; Thank you for always tidying up at the end of every day and making the site safe for my two children (aged 2 and 5) and for spending the time to make them feel involved; Thank you to you and your colleagues for being such a pleasure to have around and for respecting our house.

But most of all thank you for a quality office, built to my own design, that fits exactly in the space we had available at the end of the garden, which is finished to a very high standard. It is fantastic to have the additional space to work in and it provides useful overnight accommodation too!"

13. Tom and Hazel Payne, Edinburgh

Example of Home Office"We had very specific requirements for our home office, particularly as we live in a listed building in a conservation area, and knew that an off the shelf solution wouldn’t work. Having looked at the alternatives from other companies, there was really only one company we trusted to deliver a bespoke product at the right price that met our criteria.

From the word go BluePrint accommodated our needs and listened to what we wanted, advising on issues that were too technical for us or that we hadn’t realised were important. They helped us through the planning procedure (a requirement in Scotland for listed buildings) and got it right first time, leading on to a timely construction phase.

Once on site, their commitment and enthusiasm was quite remarkable, despite what the weather threw at them. There aren’t enough superlatives to describe the way they work, but it is clear that this isn’t just a job for them and they take a lot of pride in their work. Within a couple of days, the initial structure was put up and the rest seemed to come together effortlessly, and on time. The attention to detail and precision with which they worked was also staggering, and the quality of workmanship is without fault, both inside and out.

What BluePrint helped us to achieve is a completely unique office/garden room that turned out to be cheaper than some of the quotes we received for an off-the-shelf solution.  It fits perfectly with the look of our house and garden. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone who is considering a home office. We are delighted with ours and it has truly transformed our lives beyond what we expected. "
